During the Billiard World Team 3-Cushion Championships on February 16, 2003 in Viersen/GER the German team missed the finals and finished fourth.
The bronce medal went to the Netherlands. Turkey beat Greece in the final and captured the gold medal.
Despite missing the medal – the German team felt not the slightest bit of despair. When it comes to billiard, everything depends on the famous millimetre and the decision was just in favour of the other team. Then there is also the physical mechanism that isn’t entirely predictable. Billiard is above all a matter of patience, the capacity to think in three dimensions and complete calmness. Yet there also has to be some entertainment, like the "flirt" with the spectators.
The World Games 2005 Ltd. used the opportunity to present itself to the audience of this World Championship and to raise interest in the World Games.
